This announcement has 1 attachment:
Nurse Practitioner's and NP students throughout the state participate in this activity.
Friday January 27, 2017
8-9:30 in the Aspen room
at the State Capital in Salt Lake City.
This activity is similar to past UNP Days at the Capital.
A Continental Breakfast is served as part oof the UNP Day at the Capital.
There is a general meeting from 8:30-9:30am to discuss import topics and ideas.
After the general meeting, NPs are encouraged to meet with their respective state representatives and senators.
This day is for NP's to learn about issues affecting NP practice authority and autonomy (Per the UNP announcement: Utah still requires a collaborative/referral plan in some settings leaving Utah behind all of our surrounding states).
Additionally, NP's can educate the legislature, letting them know who NP's are and what we do; more importantly we will meet to develop relationships and discuss issues important for NP practice.
Current legislative concerns for NP practice related to pain management in the state of Utah include the following House Bills: HB 110, HB 90, HB 50
Also please see the UNA bill attachment for other bills of interest to nurses and healthcare providers.
Attached is the UNP invitation, maps, and the Utah Nurses Association (UNA) bill summary (health related topics).
